About the Role:

OS BENEFiTS is hiring its first dedicated QA Engineer to join our small, fast-moving product and engineering team. This is not a run-the-test-scripts role. You’ll own quality end to end and serve as the gatekeeper for every promotion from staging to production. We have at least two large projects releasing before the end of the year, our Individuals product and Chase embedded payments, so we need someone who can hit the ground running.

What You’ll Do:

• Own quality end to end, including test strategy, test planning, execution, and release sign-off
• Act as the gatekeeper for staging → production promotions, keeping staging (our QA line) stable and promotable at all times
• Test and validate our end-of-year releases, starting with Individuals and Chase embedded payments
• Run both manual and automated tests, and build out automated coverage where it’s missing
• Write SQL queries to validate results directly in the database
• Test features behind feature flags across our staged environments
• Log, prioritize, and track bugs, working closely with engineering to resolve them before release
• Set up QA processes and documentation for a team that hasn’t had a dedicated QA function before

What We’re Looking For:

• Hands-on QA experience on a product and engineering team, ideally as the first or only QA hire
• Comfortable with both manual and automated testing
• Working SQL knowledge to query and validate data
• Experience with feature flags and staged environments (dev, staging, production)
• Familiarity with branch-based release workflows and gating promotions to production
• Able to ramp quickly and work independently with minimal oversight
• Experience testing payments integrations is a plus
• Background in HR, benefits, or insurance is a plus, but not required

Compensation : $65 per Hour
